Biography

Lisa Harris is an experienced leader and lifelong Miramichi resident who has spent her career working to strengthen communities, support families, and drive economic growth.

Elected as MLA for Miramichi Bay-Neguac in 2014, Lisa served as Minister responsible for Seniors and Long-Term Care, leading the development of New Brunswick’s Aging Strategy. She managed a department of over 600 employees and a half-billion-dollar budget, ensuring better care for seniors while making responsible fiscal decisions. She was later appointed Deputy Government House Leader and served on key legislative committees focused on economic policy, public accounts, and government operations.

Before provincial politics, Lisa was Deputy Mayor of Miramichi, where she played a leadership role in municipal finance and community development. She has also been a passionate Liberal advocate, serving as President of the Women’s Liberal Association and policy advocate for key issues like Social Development and Indigenous Affairs.

Lisa is a Bachelor of Adult Education graduate from UNB and currently works as Local Community Engagement Strategist at NBCC Miramichi, connecting education, businesses, and the community. A former small business owner, she understands the challenges entrepreneurs face.

Lisa is married to Eugene Harris. They have two sons, Riley and Ransen, and a daughter-in-law, Meg, as well as two grandsons, Bo and Damon. Lisa is committed to working hard for Miramichi-Grand Lake, building a strong future, and ensuring that our community’s voice is heard in Ottawa.
